A Day at the Beach

Sunday I decided to take a break from my summer projects and go to the beach...haven't been to Ponce Inlet in over a year...I thought about going to Flagler so I could take a dog or two but instead, took my friend Kelley.  You can drive right out on the beach, park, open up your vehicle and there you are.

We got there at 8:30 in the morning and obviously were one of the first ones there, which I love...it was such a beautiful day!

And I couldn't resist a picture of Triumph that I took that evening...such a good dog!

Life and Summer Projects...

Wow I haven't posted in two months and not because I haven't had anything to post about or to say...I haven't been on Facebook much either...I actually haven't been on my computer much at all recently, not even emails.

The last couple of months have been a real struggle for me, in so many ways and on so many levels with so many different issues.  I had lost my passion, for everything, including my dogs - training and showing them - partly because I had lost my confidence and my self esteem and partly because I had lost passion...such an empty feeling.

So I poured myself into something I have neglected for a few years...my house.  It became a purpose for me and gave me something to do and something to look foward to and something to challenge myself with.  I painted my dog room and cleaned it up and it looks beautiful.  Then I decided I was sick of the linoleum on my kitchen floors and pulled it all up - 3 layers of linoleum - at least 50 years old, right down to the tar they used to put as a barrier on top of those beautiful heart of pine wood floors!  I sat in that kitchen for hours and hours and hours scraping up that tar and now I will have beautiful hardwood floors in my kitchen...

all sanded floor...

THE FINISHED FLOOR!!!!!!!!!!!

Next project was getting all the rotten wood siding off my house...the carpenter's helper did not show up on that day so I stayed home from work and helped the carpenter and we replaced it all...now I am going to have it painted...

I took all the black wooden screens off the house and cleaned all the window sills - the painter came to start on cleaning, scraping, and prepping and now I have decided to get it to the bare wood before we paint...WOW what a project that is turning out to be!!!!!

My van took a crap back in June and I got a new one...well, it's not new, but it is new to me and it's really really nice...it's a 2006 Grand Caravan with lots of bells and whistles, some things I haven't figured out yet but I like it almost as much as my iphone :)

I started training again and Burn and Triumph are very happy!  I have been going to the gym religiously, have paid off some credit cards, and am whittling away at that very long list of things I need and want to get done...I feel so much better, I smile, sing, play with the dogs!  We went to train today and then played in the pond - my border collies were in heaven...

Pauli's father Legacy died a few days ago...he was such a great little dog and I am so blessed to still have Pauli...she is doing good.  So many friends have recently lost their older dogs.  Life seems to go by in the blink of an eye...enjoy every day, your family, friends, and loved ones.
